Treating Continence in Children: Importance and Benefits
How Physiotherapy Can Help Your Child Achieve Continence
The Importance of Treating Continence in Children
Continence issues can cause physical discomfort, emotional distress, and social isolation. Children who experience incontinence may feel embarrassed or ashamed, which can affect their self-esteem and confidence.
Treatment can also help your child feel more comfortable discussing their condition, which can help them feel less isolated and more supported.
Incontinence can significantly impact a child’s quality of life, but it doesn’t have to. By seeking treatment for continence issues, you can help your child improve their physical comfort, emotional wellbeing, and social confidence. Physiotherapy can be an effective treatment option for children with continence issues, helping them improve their pelvic floor muscle strength and control, bladder and bowel training, and overall quality of life.
